This website used to promote railway tourism and photography in China. Due to the recent devlopments in China regarding Olympics and Tibet Paranoia, I no longer recommand to visit China. Never before did I feel such unwelcome in China than during my latest short trip in late April 2008. Chinese officials seem to consider every foreigner to be a pro-tibetean and anti-Chinese journalist or spy, especially when being in remoter areas or even waving a camera towards a "strategic" object such as a railway. Maybe, the situation changes again in the future after the olympics, but for the time being, be very, very careful if considering a trip to China.
